Are you “Pipeline Aware”?

Posted: Sep 18, 2019

Please take a moment to answer a brief survey and find out!
HERE

Representatives from API member companies and API staff members are currently working together to develop new standards for communicating pipeline awareness and safety to the general public.  This is obviously critical given the fact that the U.S. has the largest network of energy pipelines in the world, with more than 2.8 million miles of pipe.  Pipelines, along with utility lines, are literally everywhere.  So it’s important that API and its member companies continue to find new and better ways to communicate with the public.

One of the first steps in this initiative was the development of an informational website, www.pipelineaware.org, which is an interactive site designed to gauge the public’s current pipeline awareness level and seek input on how to better communicate about pipeline safety.  The site also includes a survey, and we encourage each of you not only to take the survey, but also forward it to your family members and friends, post the website and survey to your personal social media accounts, etc.  The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete, and you can access it by visiting the above-mentioned website or by clicking here.  NuStar will also be posting this information to our website and social media accounts.  The more responses and input that API receives, the better the results will be in developing new and enhanced communication strategies.

This is not only important to NuStar and other companies in the pipeline industry, but it’s important to each of us in our daily lives as there’s a good chance there are pipelines near our homes and almost every other place we may be on any given day.  And as a company with a strong and proven commitment to safety, it’s important that we support this important public safety and awareness effort.

 Thank you.
